Healing Sun coming out
By Chris Simon

The Healing Sun health food, vitamin and supplement store owner welcomed patrons during a reopening ceremony at her new Innisfil Beach Road site last weekend. The store is located at the Innisfil Beach and St. John's Road intersection. The store's reopening will continue throughout this month, with a variety of events planned.
Caroline Taylor has been living the healthy lifestyle for several years.

She's brought her children up eating a natural, healthy diet for the last 10 years, and has been attempting to spread that lifestyle across Innisfil for the last year and a half. The owner of The Healing Sun health food store recently relocated the Alcona business to the corner of Innisfil Beach and St. John's roads, and has already seen the shop blossom.

Customers have been continually entering the store since it reopened over one week ago, in search of natural supplements and vitamins and vegan, vegetarian and organic foods, said Taylor.

"This location has been fabulous, it's accessible, convenient and visible," she said, during a reopening celebration at the store last weekend. "In my own experience, (these products) work, they can help you. A lot of people are stressed, they have very busy work lives, and people are looking to have a good, healthy lifestyle and maintain the pace we're all going at. You're taking care of your body and mind."

The variety of healthy lifestyle alternatives has also expanded when compared to the previous store.

A fridge has been added, and it carries several types of frozen dinners, natural energy drinks, and gluten-free desserts.

Taylor says the store can help provide food alternatives for people with specific health conditions.

"With this location, we've got a better selection to offer. I'm trying to have a greater variety of products," she said. "Knowledge is important, and (we've) got a lot to offer on that basis. You can go to a (big box store), but you're not going to get the knowledge and have people advise you.

"I feel we have the products that are going to help you."

However, many of the vitamins and natural healing alternatives can help clear up infections and prevent illnesses, said Taylor.

"I'm very careful of the products and supplements we bring in here. I want to be able to offer value," she said. "I'll carry some things that (grocery stores) don't; it's convenient."

As part of the reopening, the store is hosting a draw this month.

Prizes include baskets of healthy foods and supplements. For more information, call 431-7040.
