A dark rising at the Cookstown library

The Cookstown branch of the Innisfil Public Library will be showing the film The Dark is Rising on Saturday January 12, beginning at 1 p.m.

The movie is based on the acclaimed novel by Susan Cooper in which 11- year-old Will Stanton discovers he is the last of the Old Ones, dedicated to fighting the forces of evil. Stanton searches for the six magical signs that will be needed for the battle between the Dark and the Light.

Tickets are $2.

Registration for storytime and after school programs at the Cookstown branch begins Tuesday January 8 at 1 p.m. Programs run Jan. 15 to Feb. 26 and include the Acting Out drama club for eight to 12 year olds, the after school Book Magic program for five to eight year olds, and a variety of storytimes for children five and under.
