Woman charged with shoplifting

South Simcoe Police have charged a 36-year-old Bradford woman with theft under $5,000 and fail to comply with recognizance after a Bradford grocery store reported a shoplifting complaint on Dec. 27.

The woman was on conditions to be in the company of her surety, and she was failing to comply with this court release condition.

The woman has been held in custody pending a bail hearing later this date.

Snowmobile stolen from shed

Police are investigating the theft of a snowmobile from a shed on Sideroad 5 in Innisfil. The shed had been forcibly entered, and the theft occurred sometime over the past seven days.

The snowmobile is a 2005 Arctic F7 green in colour.

Man allegedly hits wife

On Jan. 6 police received a call from a woman advising that her mother had been assaulted by her step father at a residence in Innisfil.

Investigating officers arrested a 53-year-old Innisfil man for domestic assault. The accused was released on a promise to appear and undertaking entered into before an officer in charge.

Innisfil man takes car without consent

Police have charged a 20- year-old Innisfil man with take auto without owner's consent and failing to comply with condition after he took a vehicle without the consent of its owner.

The man was not to be in the vehicle without the owner as part of a previous release condition.

Woman charged with domestic assault

On Jan. 1, South Simcoe Police were called to a Bradford address.

Police investigated an incident which had occurred over the Christmas holidays. As a result of the investigation, a 30-year-old Bradford woman was arrested and charged with domestic assault and two counts of uttering threats. She was held for a bail hearing.

Bradford man arrested for assault

On Dec. 31, police were called to an address in Bradford.

Upon investigation, they arrested a 42-year-old Bradford man for assault. He was taken to a police station, charged with assault and held for a bail hearing.

RIDE leads to 12-hour suspension

On Dec. 31, police conducted a RIDE spot check in Bradford and Innisfil.

During the blitz, 250 vehicles were stopped which resulted in one 12-hour licence suspension being handed out.

Two ring in new year

The new year got off to a drunken start, with two people arrested for public intoxication Jan. 1.

Police arrested a 34-yearold Toronto man for public intoxication. He was held at the South Division station until sober. A short time later, police also arrested a 22-year-old Bradford man for public Intoxication. He too was held at the station until sober.

Breach of undertaking leads to arrest

Police investigated the driver of a motor vehicle Jan. 1. As a result of the investigation, an 18-year-old Innisfil man was arrested for breach of undertaking. He was charged and held for a bail hearing.

Collision causes property damage

On Dec. 30, police investigated a single motor vehicle property damage collision on the 25th Sideroad in Innisfil.

The investigation resulted in the driver being arrested for impaired operation. The accused, a 30-year-old Innisfil man, was transport to the police station to perform a Breathalyzer

test. The accused was charged with impaired operation and drive over 80 milligrams.

The accused was released on a promise to appear, and had his drivers licence suspended for 90 days.

Driver charged with resisting arrest

On Dec. 29, police investigated the driver of a motor vehicle in the village of Alcona,

after receiving a 911 call from a concerned citizen.

The investigation resulted in a 46-year-old Richmond Hill man being charged with resisting arrest, carry concealed weapon, impaired diving and drive over 80 milligrams. The accused was released on a promise to appear and had his drivers licence suspended for 90 days.

Two arrested for drug possession

On Dec. 28, police investigated a suspicious vehicle in the area of County Road 27 and Concession 3 in Innisfil.

As a result of the investigation, a 29-year-old Toronto man has been charged with possession of a controlled substance (cocaine) and possession for the purpose of trafficking. A 31-year-old Brampton man has also been charged with possession of a controlled substance (cocaine) and flight from peace officer.

Both men were released from custody and have court dates on Feb. 21.

Strong smell leads to drug charges

On Dec. 29, police investigated three men sitting in a vehicle at a Mary Street parking lot in Bradford.

There was a strong odour of marijuana emanating from the vehicle. Two of the men were found to be in possession of a small quantity of marijuana. Police have charged two Bradford men, aged 19 and 20, with possession of a controlled substance.

The men have been released from custody and have a Jan. 24 court date.
