Having some holiday pick-up problems

I live on Innisfil Beach Road. Our garbage is picked up sometime during the day on Tuesdays.

When there is a holiday, as it was explained to me by (Innisfil town) staff, the next business day will be pickup.

So, if the holiday is Tuesday, pick-up is Wednesday; I understand that. But last month, one of those Wednesdays was Boxing Day, a holiday.

In my mind, next pick-up day should have been Thursday.

When it was not picked up by Friday, I called the municipal office, only to be told pick-up was on Boxing Day.

Now along with many people on Innisfil Beach Road who have had their blue boxes and trash cans sitting out there since Thursday December 27, we are left scratching our heads. (And think of) the mess there is going to be because of the snow we have had, along with the strong winds.

In closing, I would have thought that the driver of the truck would be wondering what was going on. Very little or no residents had garbage out for pick-up on the Wednesday, Boxing Day, a holiday.
