Alzheimer society hosting several fundraising events

The Alzheimer Society of Greater Simcoe County will host several meetings and fundraisers over the next few weeks.

On Jan. 27, the 2008 Manulife Walk for Memories will take place at the Bayfield Mall in Barrie, with registration starting at 9 a.m. And throughout this month, Barrie's Dunlop Street East CIBC will be accepting donations for the society.

Monthly caregiver support group meetings will take place Jan. 15 and 17 at 9:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. respectively. The first meeting will take place at the organization's office, which is located at 12 Fairview Drive in Barrie, while the second will occur at The Spoke in Sandy Cove Acres. The Barrie Public Library will also host Alzheimer's Disease public information sessions on Jan. 17 and 25, at 7 p.m. and 10 a.m. respectively.
