Afroculture performer coming to Gibson Centre

On Feb. 1 at 11 a.m., The Gibson Centre for Community, Arts and Culture invites families to a performance of Once Upon an African Village, featuring exciting performer Adwoa Badoe of Afroculture.

Being a PD Day for local students, an entertaining day has been planned.

This high energy, entertaining show features storytelling, dance and hand drumming.

The audience is encouraged to participate through simple call-and-response songs, percussion and dances. The music and dancing celebrates life. Tickets are $8 and can be purchased by calling The Gibson Centre at 435-2828.

Badoe is a published author and seasoned storyteller who brings her love of traditional dance from her native Ghana and knowledge of other regions of Africa.
