Man caught carrying drugs

On Monday January 21, South Simcoe Police conducted a traffic stop of a vehicle driving in the area of County Road 4 in Innisfil. After investigating the driver, a quantity of drug material (cannabis marihuana and resin) was observed.

The driver was immediately arrested.

South Simcoe Police have charged a 37- year-old Barrie man with possession of a controlled substance. He was also charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking in a controlled substance, and failing to comply with an undertaking.

The man was held in custody pending a bail hearing later that day.

Child charged after brandishing knife

On Monday January 21, police were called to a residence regarding a child who brandished a knife towards their parent.

The parent suffered a small cut to the hand in the incident.

Police have charged a 16- year-old Innisfil woman with assault with a weapon. The teenager was held in court for a bail hearing later that day.
