New vehicles purchased
By Chris Simon

Innisfil will soon have a few new rides. Town council approved the purchase of three new vehicles during a meeting last week. In total, the town will spend over $735,000 on the vehicles.

About $347,500 will be spent on a vacuum truck, which will be used to clean manholes and the over 1,800 catchbasins within the town. It can also be used for engineering projects, watermain repairs, excavating road sign holes, and cleaning culverts.

The town has also approved the purchase of a $228,600 tandem axle water truck, which will be used for winter anti-icing and maintenance. The truck will be capable of carrying 3,000 gallons of water, and can also be used for compacting during gravel resurfacing, bridge cleaning and street flushing.

A single axle plow and dump combination vehicle will also be purchased for $158,947. The vehicle will be used for winter road maintenance.
