Everything went well at Burns dinner
LEFROY/BELLE EWART NEWS
by Linda Gerow

Innisfil Pipes and Drums treasurer Betty Donald was honoured with a plack and flowers for 29 years of service, duirng the Robbie Burns dinner.
What a fantastic evening we had at the Robbie Burns dinner on Saturday night at Branch 547 of the Royal Canadian Legion in Belle Ewart. From the piping in of the haggis, to the Innisfil Pipe and Drums parade, it was a great time. All wonderful musicians, the band played to perfection. Maggie and her kitchen magicians did themselves proud on serving up a delicious roast beef dinner and all the trimmings to an appreciative crowd.

After dinner, Betty Donald was presented with a plack and beautiful roses for her 29 years of service as treasurer with the Innisfil Pipe and Drums as she retires from the position. When we returned to the lounge, two of the pipers did three solo numbers and I've never heard bagpipes played like that before. Later, there was fun with karaoke when all the brave singers got up to entertain. Bob Wilkinson did a great rendition of What a Wonderful World, Louie Armstrong style. Thanks to Branch 547 for the great evening.
