Boeing farce coming to South Simcoe Theatre "Boeing Boeing", is a hilarious, roll-down-the aisle, kind of farce. Bernard (David Potocki) is a Paris based playboy with an insatiable appetite for women, who has three air hostess girlfriends, Janet (Ashley Casciato), Judith (Kristen Alary) and Jacqueline (Nancy Knapp) each thinking she is the only one. It's all a question of juggling their timetables and preparing specific meals as to each nationality, all taken care of by Bernard's housekeeper Bertha (Sandi Simpson). When Bernard's old school friend Robert (Patric Voo) arrives unexpectedly Bernard is very excited to show him his first class operation. Bernard however, had not anticipated a change in airline schedules, and so the hysterical whirl of confusion and matchmaking begin. Marc Camoletti's 1961 farce, originally opened in London in the mid-sixties. It holds the record for being the longest running comedy in the history of French theatre (over 35 years) as well as on London's West End. It also became a successful Hollywood movie starring Tony Curtis and Jerry Lewis. "Boeing Boeing" will be playing Thursday through Saturday evenings and Sunday matinees at 2 p.m. For 12 performances from Feb. 7th until Feb. 24th. All SST productions take place at the Town Hall, 1 Hamilton St. in Cookstown and tickets may be ordered through the box office at 705-458-4432 (Visa and Mastercard both accepted ) We look forward to seeing you there. |
