Two schools have enabled their students to take the first steps in becoming internationally recognised artists by entering them in the International Lion's Clubs Peace Poster competition.
Goodfellow Public School's winner was Elizabeth Campo and Sunnybrae Public School's winner was Justin Allen. Their Posters were among 375,000 entries submitted in the 20th annual contest, which is sponsored to emphasize the importance of world peace to young people everywhere. Innisfil Lions were impressed by the expression and creativity of all the students competing and especially the winners entries.
These young people have strong ideas about what peace means to them and we are proud to provide them with the opportunity to share their vision. The Campo and Allen posters will now face stiff competition through the District and International rounds of the competition if they are to be declared the grand prize winner. That prize includes $2,500 and a trip, along with with two family members, to the United Nations Building in New York City for an awards presentation.
Other notable entires include Kayla Guggenheimer, Courtney Winson, Aline Kojevnikov, Erica Fletcher and Ryan Powley.
