THURSDAYFEBRUARY21 The Simcoe County Quilters' Guild will meet at 1 p.m. at the ANAF Hall on George Street in Barrie. Due to unforeseen circumstances, our regularly scheduled programming has had to be cancelled. Please join us for our mystery program, as the executive is sure to use their creative talents to provide an afternoon of fun and fellowship. SATURDAYFEBRUARY23 The Essa Historical Society meets at the Thornton Library, located on Robert Street, starting at 1:30 p.m. Guest speaker is Henry Jones from Roadshow Antiques at the 400 Market. Topic is antique appraisals and roll call is pioneer post offices. All are welcome to attend.

A cowboy dinner costume party will take place at the Masonic Lodge in Stroud, beginning at 6 p.m. Admission is $15 per person. The lodge is located at 2156 Victoria Street. TUESDAY FEBRUARY 26 The Nottawasaga Valley Conservation Authority, along with its partners, will present new grants for landowners to protect our drinking water. This free event will take place from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Tiffin Centre, 8195 8th Line, Utopia. Complimentary refreshments will be served. Monthly Fiddle Dance and Jam Session for the Bond Head Olde Tyme Fiddle Club. All musicians, dancers and listeners are welcome to attend. The event will be held at the Bond Head Community Hall at the Highway 27 and 88 intersection. The show starts at 7 p.m., admission is $4. For more information, call Ed Elliotson at (519) 941-2134. FRIDAY MARCH 7 Shabbat Across Canada will be held at the Am Shalom Synagogue. Celebrate a Shabbat evening with other Jews across the country. A special service and dinner will take place. Call 792-3949 for more information. The synagogue is located at 767 Huronia Road in Barrie. FRIDAY MARCH 21 In Search of Jesus, an outdoor family adventure, will take place at New Life Church, beginning at 9 a.m. Walk back in time and experience the first Easter. The church park is located at 6881 Yonge Street, across from Sunset Speedway. Tours are free. For more information, call 436-5413. SATURDAY MARCH 29 The Grange Cafe will feature Poor Tom, a music group influenced by Celtic, folk, bluegrass and country roots, classic rock and classical music, starting at 7 p.m. Tickets are $10 in advance or $12 at the door. The evening will also include coffee, tea and snacks.
