Teen sustains injuries after beating

South Simcoe Police responded to a report of an unknown man attempting to enter a house on Leonard Street in Innisfil at approximately 9:30 p.m. Friday.

Upon arrival, police found a 19-year-old man beating victim, who was seeking assistance. An investigation determined the victim had been beaten at a neighbouring Leonard Street residence. Police arrested a 17-year-old young offender and have charged him with assault causing bodily harm. The victim suffered facial injuries and had some teeth knocked out.

Furniture smashed after domestic incident

On Saturday February 16, police responded to a 911 call at a Holland Street West address in Bradford, regarding an undetermined call disconnect. Upon attending, officers found a 31-year-old woman had been having a domestic argument with her 35-yearold boyfriend. The woman had left the house and the man proceeded to smash furniture and household fixtures at the rented home.

The man was arrested on two counts of mischief under $5,000 resulting from a domestic incident.

He was held for a bail hearing in Barrie on Feb. 17.

Teen sought by police

On Saturday February 16, police responded to a 911 call of a domestic assault occurring at an Alcona residence. Upon arrival, police found a 19-year-old woman had been assaulted at her residence by her estranged 18-year-old boyfriend.

The suspect fled the residence prior to police arrival.

During the course of the assault, man damaged household fixtures. At the time of this incident, the suspect was on bail for prior offences to keep the peace and be of good behaviour.

The suspect is currently being sought by police. Upon his arrest he will be charged with one count of assault, three counts of Mischief, and two counts of breach probation.

Toronto truck driver charged with careless driving

On Friday afternoon, a Honda travelling eastbound on County Road 88 was struck by a southbound transport truck exiting Highway 400.

The 35-year-old Honda driver suffered minor injuries to her hand. The truck driver was unhurt. The 34-year-old Toronto man driving the truck was charged with careless driving.

Man allegedly assaults wife and daughter

South Simcoe Police have charged a 28-year-old Innisfil man with two counts of assault following a domestic dispute at an Innisfil residence on Tuesday evening.

An investigation revealed that the man had pushed both his wife and daughter during a heated argument. The man was taken to the North Division station for processing and was later released on a promise to appear.

He will appear in a Bradford court on March 20.

ATV driver allegedly drunk

A 32-year-old Bradford man is facing charges of impaired driving, driving over 80 milligrams and possession of a controlled substance after a police officer observed an All Terrain Vehicle being driven erratically on Simcoe Road in Bradford Feb. 12.

The officer stopped the ATV and had a conversation with the driver, who showed signs of impairment. The man was arrested and a search revealed a small quantity of marijuana.

He was transported to the South Division station for an Intoxilyzer test, which confirmed his blood alcohol concentration was in excess of .08 mgs.

The man was issued a 90 day Automatic Drivers Licence Suspension and released with a court date of March 20.

Innisfil man fails to show for court

Police have charged a 20- year-old Innisfil man with failing to appear in court.

The man was scheduled to appear in Bradford court on Feb. 14. The man attended court later in the afternoon to learn a warrant was issued for his arrest.

He turned himself in to police, and was held in custody pending a bail hearing on Feb. 15.

Bradford high school broken into

On Feb. 14, police responded to an alarm call at a high school in Bradford.

Police located a broken window, which allowed entry into the school. It does not appear that anything was taken from the school.

Car wash broken into

Sometime overnight unknown suspects broke into the car wash on Disette Street in Bradford West Gwillimbury. A quantity of cash and tools were taken. A substantial amount of damage was caused during the break-in. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers.
