Lefroy Novice 2 wins Shelburne tournament

Thursday January 31 - Lefroy Novice 2 stayed home playing Lefroy Novice 3 taking the win 5-0. Great goaltending and shutout by Dakota Smith. Goals by Braydon Nickle (4) and Connor Durham, with assists by Taylor Carswell, Jamie Henderson, Austin Dempster, Nick Stella, Dylan Munro and Connor Durham.

On Saturday February 1, the Novice 2 team travelled for a one day tournament in Shelburne with the team starting out their first game against the Fergus Caravan Kids. They played an amazing game winning 12- 1. Each of the players were given nicknames as part of the tournament. Goals by Braydon "Ninja" Nickle (5), first time hat trick by Jamie "Jack Hammer" Henderson (4), Austin "Deep Freeze" Dempster (1), Connor "Cut Throat" Durham (1) and Nick "Stone Cold" Stella. Assists by Henderson, Durham, Dempster, Nickle, Logan "Shotgun" Shaw, Taylor "The Cannon" Carswell and Nick "Dynamite" Deroy. In game two, they played a tough game but came out in the third period to ring up most of the goals to win 7-2 against the host Shelburne Wolves. Another hat trick by Braydon Nickle (3) and Jamie Henderson with two, Durham and Dempster both with one. Assists by Bradley "Blackjack" Mortlock, Dylan "Mad Dog" Munro, Dakota "Daredevil" Smith, Shaw, Durham, Stella, and Deroy. This took us to the final game of the day against the Oro Thunder. With a tired team they challenged the Thunder to a great game again with most goals in the third period to take the A Championship Cup.

Congratulations to all the boys and our coaches, Scott "Small Fry" Durham, Todd "Tipsy" Nickle, Alex "Sudsy" Shaw and Rick "Dill Pickle" Deroy.

The team was back on the ice Sunday, to take on Lefroy 1. Lefroy 2 lost the game 5-2 to wrap up the regular season. Goals by Jamie Henderson and Braydon Nickle with assists from Connor Durham, Dylan Munro, Logan Shaw and Braydon Nickle.
