Art group gets new blood The Lake Simcoe Arts Foundation, the governing board of The Red Barn Theatre, has announced the hiring of an executive director. As of Jan. 1, Wendy Fairbairn has taken the reigns of Canada's longest running professional summer theatre. "(Fairbairn's) extensive experience in the corporate sectors, not-for-profit, community theatres and arts organizations are a perfect fit for The Red Barn Theatre at this point in its history," says Bob Smith, president of the LSAF. "Her administrative background and record of grant applications will be a tremendous asset to our team." Fairbairn has worked with a number of community arts groups in the GTA, including the Toronto Performing Arts Centre, Meadowvale Theatre and The Rose Theatre as front of house manager, and at the Pantages, the Assembly Hall and Meadowvale Theatre as arts administrator. |
