Essa ball hockey league sign-up approaching

Essa Township is getting a ball hockey league.

Thornton Ball Hockey is currently recruiting players for it's spring and summer league. Players can download a registration form online at www.essatownship.on.ca. They can also register during an upcoming Spring Fling event at the Thornton Arena March 1, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Registration is $100 per player, with men's women's and children's divisions available.

"Ball hockey is a fun and exciting sport for all participants and in particular helps children further develop the skills they have learned while playing ice hockey," said organizer Cory Clapperton. "Essa Township is a truly great community and a ball hockey league dedicated to the community is a great thing."

The league has the support of Essa council and several local businesses. Games will be played at the outdoor hockey pad near the Thornton Arena, beginning April 14.
