Snowmobile taken from Alcona residence

Sometime between Feb. 22 and 28, unknown suspects removed a snowmobile from the rear of a St. John's Road residence in Alcona.

The snowmobile is described as a blue 2001 Yamaha SRX.

Woman charged after two vehicle collision

A 59-year-old Bradford woman has been charged with careless driving following a two vehicle collision which occurred on Bridge Street in Bradford on Thursday morning.

Police report that the woman was following a second vehicle which had slowed down in traffic. She was unable to stop her car in time and rear-ended the second car. No one was injured in the collision.

Man found unconscious in car

On Feb. 27, police were called to a Bradford residence when a man was discovered in a running car and was unresponsive.

Ambulance, fire and police attended and the man was awakened. The 66-yearold Bradford man was examined by ambulance attendants and was then arrested by police for impaired care and control of a motor vehicle. The man provided samples of his breath at the police station and was further charged with over 80 milligrams.

The man was released with a March court date and a 90 day licence suspension.

Transponder, lap top adaptors taken from vehicle

Police are investigating a theft from a residence on Lee Avenue in Bradford that occurred sometime overnight on Feb. 25.

The homeowner reported that his vehicle, which was parked in the driveway, was entered during the night and a 407 transponder and several lap top adaptors were removed.

Domestic assault alleged

On Sunday March 2 at 10:15 p.m. police responded to an assault allegation at a Gilford residence.

Investigating officers arrested a 43-year-old man for assaulting his wife. The accused was transported to the police station were he was later released on a promise to appear.

Fraud all in the family

On Friday February 29, a 26-year-old Aurora woman was arrested at her workplace in Newmarket. She was charged with fraud and personation relating to a complaint received from a family member, which indicated the accused had impersonated her in September 2007.

The accused, by pretending to be the family member, was granted a credit card. The accused then used this credit card to charge numerous purchases to the family member in York Region.

The accused now faces 18 counts of fraud and one count of personation relating to this incident. She will be appearing in a Bradford court in April.

Poultry farm broken

into

On Sunday March 2, police received a call from an alarm company advising that an alarm was activated at a poultry farm on Innisfil Beach Road.

Uniformed officers along with the South Simcoe Canine Unit attended the scene, and found that an entry had been gained through the front door. It appears that the suspect pried the door with a crow bar or large screw driver. Once inside, the individual was caught on tape prying open the cash box and removing the money inside.

The individual is described as a white man, between five feet, eight inches and five feet, nine inches tall, with receding short dark hair. He was wearing sunglasses, and is between 45 and 50 years old. The man was wearing dark running shoes with reflective strips, and a bomber style jacket which appeared light in colour. It was unknown how much money was missing at the time.

The individual appeared to have a vehicle waiting on the road. If anyone has information about this occurrence, they can contact police or Crime Stoppers.
