Poor dress code I'm sending this letter to voice my discontent with the public school dress code. I have a bit of a problem with this; first they bring in the code about tank tops not being allowed past a certain width, which is kind of hard to follow that rule, when all that sold is the skinny straps. Now they have come up with a no skull, flames or cross bones rule, now that's a big problem for me. I have been informed of this is because kids in kindergarten are scared of them. I have four children, and they all like it, as well as all their friends. My youngest child is five years old and in Senior Kindergarten, and he asks for clothing with these things on it. It has been brought to my attention, that if children are seen wearing these types of things in school, they are to turn them inside out, or change if they can, and on top of that, have us parents sew over the design. It has also been brought to my attention that the children have been told by the principle and teachers that if they continue to wear these things, they will be suspended. How is this fair? If they want to have this many rules with clothes, want not just make uniforms, then there would be no dispute about what others wear.
I have read through the school agenda, and I have seen nothing in there that states what can and cannot be worn in the public schools. |
