Internet and child safety seminar planned On Thursday May 1, the Gilford Lions Club will be co-hosting a free community seminar on the internet and child safety. The principal speaker will be Christina Kilbourne, author and lecturer. Her book, Dear Jo, deals with internet exploitation. Kilbourne will be assisted by Detective Constable Matt Noble of the South Simcoe Police Service. The seminar will be held at The Honourable Earl Rowe Public School on Line 12 in Bradford West Gwillimbury, between 7 and 8 p.m. This is the second in a series of community seminars hosted by the Lions. In September, the Lions held a presentation on identity theft. The session will be free, and parents and grandparents are invited to attend. For more information, call Jack Ross at 456-2266 or Jean Hamilton at 456-3008. |
