Mini-van sought after fleeing crash scene

South Simcoe Police are asking for public assistance in locating a vehicle involved in a fail to remain collision, which occurred on Yonge Street near the 9th Line of Bradford on Saturday at about 1 p.m.

Police report that a red mini-van or sport utility type vehicle was travelling southbound on Yonge. For unknown reasons, the vehicle crossed into the oncoming lanes of traffic, directly into the path of a northbound Honda Civic. It continued down a steep embankment before coming to a rest.

The driver of the Civic, a 39-year-old Bradford woman, her seven-year-old son and three-year-old daughter were all treated at the scene by paramedics for minor injuries and released. Their vehicle was written off in the collision.

The suspect vehicle is described as a red mini-van or sport utility vehicle with unknown plates.

No description of the suspect driver was obtained.
