Wing Ding taking place June 7 and 8

Wing Ding dates have been set. The Cookstown and District Chamber of Commerce was granted permission from Innisfil council to host the 25th annual Wing Ding June 7 and 8. As part of the plan, the chamber is requesting the closure of Dufferin Street for their craft area, and George between County Road 89 and Wellington for safety concerns. Both streets would be closed from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day.

"This has been done in past years and has caused no problems," said chamber president Laurie Munroe, in a statement to council.

The chamber has also asked the town to provide barricades to close the streets, as well as garbage cans and recycling receptacles. Both requests have been granted in previous years.
