Artist will answer questions at Gibson

A premier exhibit of encaustic painting by Susan Fisher will be on display at the Gibson Centre from March 25 to April 4. Susan's encaustic work is currently on exhibit at the Art Gallery of Peterborough.

During one of the harshest winter times in February, Fisher spent two cozy days teaching the techniques of this ancient art form to local artists at the Blue Heron Studio.

The artists were introduced to the interesting techniques involved in this ancient art form of painting with beeswax and coloured pigments. The artists' introductory works will be on display, along with Fisher's work. The exhibit will illustrate the beautiful luminescence quality that is unique to encaustic painting.

On March 27 Fisher and her students will be at the opening to answer questions and demonstrate techniques involved in this unique painting style.

Demonstrations will be held between 2 and 5 p.m. For more information, visit www.gibsoncentre.com.
