Teaching nominations needed The Ontario Teachers' Federation and the Ontario Teachers Insurance Plan, joint sponsors of the OTIP Teaching Awards, are pleased to open nominations for their 2008 ceremony. If you know a great teacher who inspires students to reach for the stars, a teacher who is an innovator, or a teacher who is a leader of other education professionals, you can nominate them for the OTIP Teaching Awards. "Whether your person teaches Kindergarten, computer studies, guides students through a co-op program or runs the school library, their achievements honour the entire profession," Maureen Davis, President of the OTF said. "Share those achievements with others by making a nomination." The award nominations are open to anyone who would like to nominate an excellent teacher in Ontario's publicly funded schools. The process is a simple online format. Criteria and nomination forms are found at www.teachingawards.ca. The deadline for nominations is March 31. The winners will be announced on Oct. 2, to coincide with World Teachers' Day. |
