Minimum wage raise won't hurt economy

I am sick of hearing how raising the minimum wage is going to destroy the economy.

Ironically, we are told this constantly by people making six, seven and eight figure salaries, many of them plus stock options and massive bonuses. Now here's a novel idea; what if every worker in the country who earns $10 or less per hour were to walk off the job at the same time? The economy would crash into the nearest dumpster and the country would grind to a halt. And all the corporate heads in the world, with all their million dollar salaries could not put it back together.

What greed and audacity these people at the bottom end of the scale have, wanting the luxury of feeding, clothing and educating their families, or having a decent roof over their heads.

Do they not care about our sacred economy? Can they not see past their own poverty stricken lives and contemplate the greater good?

Do they not care when corporate profits are down? Do they not care about the sacred right of banks and oil companies to make billions of dollars in profit.

Well, why would they care? These minimum wage earners have nearly nothing now and even a $10 minimum wage means they will have little more than nothing in the future.

But what will the poor people eat? Why, let them eat cake!
