Essa keeps up pressure for new high school
By Richard Blanchard

Essa council will continue to keep a focus on bringing a new high school to the township with both staff at the provincial Ministry of Education and local MPP's.

Council discussed the need to ensure that both groups are aware of the need for the high school. The Simcoe County District School Board recently decided to make the building of a new high school in the Essa Township area a priority.

Councillor Sandie Macdonald said that she had spoken to both Simcoe MPP Jim Wilson and Barrie MPP Eileen Carroll about the proposal and the need for their support for the school's construction. Mayor Dave Guergis said that he had also recently spoken to staff in Premier McGuinty's office and at the ministry about the need to move speedily with the school's construction.
