Driver charged after hitting mailbox, fence

Photo by Steve Sheppard The driver of this vehicle has been charged after hitting a mailbox and fence.
A 40-year-old Innisfil man was charged with impaired operation and over 80 milligrams after being involved in a motor vehicle collision in Alcona on Saturday evening.

The man was operating his motor vehicle northbound on Ashwood Avenue when he lost control of his vehicle, left the roadway, struck a Canada Post mailbox and then continued on into a fence. No injuries were sustained, but the driver's vehicle was severely damaged.

The man was released from custody with a future court date in May.
