Angus library may face building delays
By Richard Blanchard

The failure of Essa Township to receive provincial funding for a new library building in Angus likely means that construction will be delayed.

Township mayor Dave Guergis said last Wednesday night that the municipality was going to have to look at additional funding sources for the building which was expected to cost upwards of $3 million.

"We haven't made provision in this year's budget for funding the new building without provincial grants," he said.

Essa had submitted a grant for funding under the Municipal Investment Initiative which saw the Town of Innisfil receive $2.8 million dollars towards the new library in Cookstown on the property formerly used for the Cookstown Fair.
