Tulips will be blooming at Lefroy United Church Lefroy United Church will have tulips blooming in the Grange Hall from 2 to 4 p.m. on Saturday April 12th. Come and enjoy some delicious sandwiches, goodies, tea and coffee. Admission is $5 for adults and $2.50 for children. Gilford and District Horticultural Society's general meeting will take place April 14th at 7:30 p.m. at the Churchill Community Centre. The topic is garden design with Lorraine Mennen. This is a speaker you don't want to miss. Mennen, a perennial landscape designer with over 27 years of hands-on experience, has appeared as a gardening expert on television, radio and in print. She is in high demand as a lecturer and was a featured guest speaker at Canada Blooms. As founder of Pathways to Perennials, she regularly presents workshops and seminars on a wide variety of gardening topics. Bridal events: Lefroy United Church will be hosting two bridal events at the Grange Hall on Church Street April 26th. First, a bridal show for brides and their entourage will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Then, starting at 7 p.m., a fashion show featuring vintage bridal wear. Admission fee for the fashion show of $10 includes refreshments. Local businesses wishing to showcase their products and services for a nominal fee of $20 (tables provided) are asked to contact Andrea or Patti for more information. They will also be happy to arrange space for anyone wishing to sell bridal wear on consignment.
