Essa flood waters recede The problems with flooding in Essa township had passed by the end of last week according to the township's fire chief Paul Macdonald. Macdonald said Tuesday that the worst days for flooding were on Tuesday, April 1 which saw at least two homes and the Angus plaza flooded. "It came on really quick," he said. The flooding from the Pine River saw all the stores in the Angus closed. The plaza itself had reopened at the end of the week but several of the stores are still working at cleaning up flood damage. Township mayor Dave Guergis thanked the township's Roads Department staff and the Fire Department for their quick actions on Tuesday. "I appreciated your help with residents in Baxter and Angus who have affected by the flooding. The regular use of updates and phonecalls have made it all easier for us,' said Guergis. Macdonald said many other county municipalities had experience worse flooding. |
