On Thursday May 1, the Gilford Lions will be co-hosting a free community seminar on the internet and child safety.

The principal speaker will be Christina Kilbourne, author and lecturer. Her book, Dear Jo, deals with the tragedy of internet exploitation. Kilbourne will be assisted by Detective Constable Matt Noble of the South Simcoe Police Service. The seminar will be held at The Honourable Earl Rowe Public School on the 12th Line of Bradford West Gwillimbury, opposite Bradford Nurseries on Yonge Street.

The event will take place from 7 to 8 p.m. There is no charge for admission, but the session is for parents and grandparents only. For further information, contact Jack Ross at 456-2266 or Jean Hamilton at 456-3008.
