Ruby's 90th birthday party was packed Condolences to the family of Don Hiles who recently passed away. Our thoughts are with you. The reception room at Christ Church St Jude's in Ivy was overflowing with family and friends on Saturday afternoon. They had all come together to celebrate Ruby Smith's 90th birthday. Ruby looked happy, surrounded by those who mean the most to her, taking time to talk to everyone who lined up to wish her well and making us smile with her usual wit and humor. Happy Birthday Ruby, I hope you enjoyed your special day. Everyone is invited to Hear Spring Sing, an evening of musical talent and special guest performances followed by refreshments at the Ivy Presbyterian Church on Sunday April 20 starting at 6:30 p.m. Admission is a free will offering in support of the Turn on the Tap program. The Dream Auction at Trinity United Church will be here before we know it. Some of the items that have been donated so far are Willy's famous raisin bread, Donna Caldwell's pie a month, a haircut and blow dry from Frank at First Impressions, birdseed from Charwin Farms, fertilizer from Maple Farm Supply, ice cream cones from Frost Bites, and a leaf blower donated by Wight's Small Engines. There are vouchers from Country Meats and many other local businesses, there's a drive to Toronto, gifts baskets and more. Not to be forgotten is some of the best baking and treats around, butter tarts, fern tarts, tea biscuits, cookies and fudge. There will be something for everyone. Trinity has been part of this community for well over 100 years and your support is always appreciated.
