Government making some moves to tackle bullying

Finally, it's against the law to bully and awareness is being raised on the ills of bullying, so children will be protected at school.

But we should also address the issue of why a child feels the need to bully. A bully lacks empathy. All behaviour is taught, which begs to question what is going on in the house of a child that bullies. Its not simply acceptable to suspend a bully, but further investigate why they are acting that way. A child that bullies is more than likely being bullied, abused, or ignored at home. The parents should also be held accountable for their child's behaviour, since they are the main influence on how their child acts. Parents are our first teachers. If every child was raised in a loving home with attentive parents and taught to have respect and compassion for all people and all living things, the world itself would be in much better shape than it is.
