Volunteers honoured United Way of Greater Simcoe County honoured their volunteers with a special celebration at the Robert Simpson Brewing Company in Barrie last week. During National Volunteer Week, and organizations across Canada are using this occasion to celebrate with their volunteers. "Our organization is penetrated with volunteers at multiple levels," said Seija Suutari, executive director of the United Way branch. "We have volunteers that are board members. We have volunteers that lead our annual campaign. We have a volunteer allocations committee. We have volunteer consultants who drive our training and consulting services. We have special event volunteers. We have general office volunteers that assist us on a day-to-day basis. In fact, one of our office volunteers will be celebrating her nine-year anniversary with us this month. They truly inspire us." |
