Nantyr receives $1,000 grant from town

Nantyr Shores Secondary School could be getting a $1,000 grant from town council.

An Innisfil committee approved a $1,000 grant for Nantyr, which will be used for awards at the school's spring commencement ceremony. The money helps students pay for post secondary schooling, said Nantyr principal Jean Hargreaves.

"In the past, many students have benefitted from the generosity of their town," she said, in a statement. "Many well deserving Nantyr students need financial support for continual learning."

The grants are distributed to several students each year, often as $500 and $100 awards, said Hargreaves.
