Residents handing over McConkey petition tonight

Several local heritage preservationists will be handing a petition to Innisfil council tonight, in hopes of saving the McConkey century homestead.

The petition is expected to have hundreds of signatures. The homestead was built in the 19th century. It is expected to be sold to developers next month.

Plans for the land include a retail shopping complex and Canadian Tire store.

The petition will be handed over during a council meeting, which begins at 7:15 p.m.
