Wing Ding returning

Cookstown's 25th annual Wing Ding will return June 7 and 8.

The event, sponsored by the Cookstown Chamber of Commerce, antique and craft areas and hundreds of yard sales. The Wing Ding will take place from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. June 7, and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. June 8.

There will also be a kids area featuring the Georgian Bay Steam Show. Volunteers will even teach children how to make their own skipping ropes, while pedal tractor races, a dunk tank and kids and teens versions of Cookstown Idol will be featured.

The annual WIng Ding Dance will also return June 7, featuring Creedence Clearwater Revival tribute band Green River Revival. The dance, which is sponsored by the Geranium Corporation and OLG Slots at Georgian Downs, begins at 8 p.m. Admission is $5 at the door, with proceeds benefitting the new Innisfil Public Library Cookstown branch.
