Tentative deal reached with secondary school teachers
      The Simcoe County District School Board and Ontario Secondary School Teachers' Federation, District 17 have achieved a tentative settlement for a new collective agreement. The previous collective agreement with the OSSTF expired Aug. 31. Board trustees will vote on the new agreement during a meeting on Jan. 21.

Students prepare for trip to France
      In April, many students from the senior French classes at Nantyr Shores Secondary Schools will be heading to Europe for 10 days. They will be visiting Paris and going to see the Eiffel Tower, and many of the most famous art museums in the world. It isn't cheap though, each student has to pay a total of $2,700.

Spin-4-Kids raises $20,000 for cancer care centre
      On Nov. 1, Nantyr Shores Secondary School volunteers held their annual Spin-4-Kids fundraiser. During the event, the community was welcome to attend and ride exercise bikes to help raise money for the Royal Victoria Hospital's Simcoe-Muskoka Regional Cancer Centre, and help students succeed in their high school classes.
