Art on Main returns
      Art on Main is an event run during the Festival of the Arts each spring. In this show, artists have the opportunity to display their work in the front windows of the stores on the main streets of Alliston, Beeton, Cookstown and Tottenham. Artists are matched with stores and will work together with the owners to create an attractive display.

A warm welcome for new residents

      New residents shouldn't be surprised if the Welcome Wagon comes calling. For years, the organization has been delivering baskets full of coupons and supplies from local businesses to new residents, including babies. Using word of mouth, and information passed through local developers and hospitals, volunteers thoughtfully deliver care packages to the residents.

Chamber resumes breakfast series
      The Greater Innisfil Chamber of Commerce is hosting an upcoming Breakfast Tips Speaker Series session on Wednesday February 12. Sessions held be at OLG Slots Georgian Downs on the second Wednesday of each month, except for July, August and December. Admission is $10 and includes a hot breakfast.

Burns' birthday commemorated across town

      Mackenzie Kerr has a rich Scottish family history. Her father and grandparents were born in Scotland, as were many of her ancestors. But living in Canada hasn't quelled the patriotism of a Scottish origin. For the last year and a half, she's been learning Highland dance techniques, and has fallen in love with the style.
