Police board approves 4.8 per cent budget bump
      The Bradford West Gwillimbury/Innisfil Police Services Board approved their 2009 Operating Budget recently. The board shares the concerns of both Innisfil and Bradford West Gwillimbury council, with respect to the tax implications to the community, as well as the economic realities being faced by everyone at this time.

Full moon witnessed on Highway 400
      While travelling southbound on Highway 400 approaching Innisfil Beach Road, a South Simcoe Police officer in a unmarked car observed a red Honda with four occupants. The vehicle was travelling at about 140 kilometres per hour, and was observed weaving within the lane.

Several crashes reported
      South Simcoe Police officers investigated several vehicle collisions throughout the last few days. On Jan. 16, police responded to a motor vehicle collision on a residential street in the village of Alcona. A snowmobile struck a parked motor vehicle, causing minor damage to both vehicles. The driver of the snowmobile was not injured.

Business owner threatened
      Argument leads to hair pulling In the early morning hours of Jan. 24, South Simcoe Police attended a Bradford residence regarding a domestic dispute. Officers arrived and spoke to the involved parties. Officers learned that a husband and wife had a verbal argument. The argument continued, and the husband grabbed the wife's hair and pulled her.
