The Innisfil Figure Skating Club had 31 skaters participate in the Huronia competition held in Creemore on Jan. 24 and 25.

The club finished third overall, and competed against 14 other clubs from the area, including Barrie, Orillia, Collingwood and Midland. Innisfil accumulated 11 gold, eight silver and 11 bronze medals.

Gold medals were won by Jessica Grillo, Megan Durkin, Sydney Wilson, Emily Gillies, Courtney Burk, Martina Harrison, Meghan Twine and Erin Gillies. Erin Gillies earned five medals and Emily Gillies won four.

The Mini-Olympics were held for the Canskaters on Feb. 11. Events like a downhill ski, car race, relays and basketball game

The Ice Helper of the Month award went to Emily Gillies, while the Canskater award was won by Delaney Hazelwood.

Skaters will soon be preparing for the annual carnival on March 28th. This year's theme is 'Lights, Camera, Action!' and the skaters are looking forward to the costumes, music and performances.
