ISSUES & INTERESTS WEDNESDAY JUNE 17 St. George's Anglican Church Utopia will host its 95th annual strawberry supper at the Royal Canadian Legion in Angus. The event will run from 4:30 to 8 p.m. A ham and salad supper, followed by fresh strawberries and homemade pies will be served. Admission is $13 for adults, $5 for children and free for kids under five years old.
An evening of dessert and music will take place at Churchill United Church, from 7 to 9 p.m. The event will feature North of 50, with Al Beardsall as keyboardist and vocals, and Lloyd Preston on fiddle and saxophone. Talent from the church will also perform. Admission is $10 per person, of $25 per family, and includes a program, dessert and coffee. THURSDAY JUNE 18 The Prostate Cancer Support Group's Barrie chapter of Man to Man will meet at 7:30 p.m. at the Canadian Cancer Society Office, located at 64 Cedar Pointe Drive. The group meets on the third Thursday of every month and ladies are welcome to attend. For more information, call 726- 8032. FRIDAY JUNE 19 The Innisfil Lioness monthly Friday progressive euchre will take place at the Lions Hall on Innisfil Beach Road. The doors open at 6:30 p.m., and euchre begins at 7:30. Admission is $10 per person, and euchre pots, draws, cash prizes, a buffet and cash bar are available. Everyone is welcome to attend. For more information, call Debbie at 436-1256. SUNDAY JUNE 21 A Cemetery Day service will be held at St. Paul's Anglican Church in Coulson's Hill, beginning at at 11 a.m. Refreshments and social hour will follow in the church hall. SATURDAY JUNE 27 Royal Canadian Legion branch 547 will host a Canada Day parad. Watch for posters, and plan to attend this annual get together celebrating the founding of the country. The parade will include a band, antique cars, decorated bicycles, and the Innisfil Fire and Rescue Service, and a police escort. There will be prizes for the best decorated children's bikes, plus hot dogs.
