RIDE blitz nets three drivers

Domestic assault reported

On Oct. 31, South Simcoe Police received a call for assistance from a woman regarding a domestic assault

a Bradford residence.

Investigating officers arrested a 50-year-old man for assaulting his wife. The accused was transported to a police station and charged with domestic assault. The accused was released on a promise to appear, and an undertaking.

Tires slashed

On Nov. 1, police responded to a Lakeside Drive address in regards to mischief to a vehicle.

Sometime overnight, unknown suspects slashed tires on the victim's vehicle. Anyone with information is asked to contact police or Crime Stoppers.

Impaired driver hits hydro pole

On Nov. 1, police responded to a call in regards to a motor vehicle collision on Maple Road in Innisfil. The accused was driving 2000 Dodge pick-up truck, when he lost control and struck a hydro pole. A 20- year-old Innisfil man was arrested and transported to the South Division station, where he provided samples of his breath.

Breath tests revealed that the accused had a blood alcohol concentration in excess of the legal limit. The accused was charged with impaired driving and driving with over 80 milligrams of alcohol in his blood. The accused was released on promise to appear.

Bail conditions violated

On Oct. 30, an officer investigated a vehicle in Alcona.

The driver was found to be in violation of his bail conditions. A 26-year-old Innisfil man was arrested for breach of bail conditions.

The man was held in custody for bail court on Oct. 31.

Three impaired drivers suspended

South Simcoe Police conducted a RIDE stop in the early morning hours of Oct. 28.

The stops were conducted

two roadways, Bridge Street and Simcoe Road, in Bradford West Gwillimbury. The officers checked about 100 vehicles and found three drivers that had been drinking alcohol. Police made a roadside demand from these drivers to provide a sample

their breath into an approved screening device. This resulted in the drivers registering readings in excess 50 milligrams of alcohol. Their driving privileges were suspended immediately and licences were seized for

three day mandatory suspension. Their drivers licences were sent to the Ministry of Transport.

Police are committed to road safety and will continue the RIDE program throughout the year.

Man illegally enters home

On Thursday November 2nd, police officers responded

to a 911 call for a domestic dispute.

An investigation revealed that the suspect was on conditions not return to his residence. The accused was arrested for unlawfully being

a dwelling and assault, and transported to a police station, where he was held custody pending a bail hearing.

Drugs seized from car

On Nov. 3rd, a uniformed officer investigated a motor vehicle with three people sitting in it. The car was parked at Bradford business that was closed. An investigating resulted in three Aurora men being arrested and charged with possession of a controlled drug. Two of the men, ages 20 and 27, have been held for bail due to previously

being released for a criminal offence.

Drunk man arrested

On Tuesday November 3rd, police responded to residential neighbourhood Bradford. Investigating officers located a 50-year-old intoxicated man outside of residence. The suspect was arrested and transported to police station.
