Minor bantams victorious in Owen Sound Regional Silver Stick
     The Innisfil Winterhawks minor bantam A team traveled to Owen Sound for the Silver Stick Regionals Nov. 6 to 8. They placed first after the round robin and then faced rivals from East Gwillimbury in the semifinals. The boys played a textbook game and won 3-0. Then it was off to the finals to play Brampton, who they played earlier in the tournament and defeated 3-1.

Olympic torch through Cookstown Dec. 29
      The Olympic torch will be carried through Cookstown Dec. 29. On its cross-country trek, the torch will be brought through the village at about 5:30 p.m. To celebrate, merchants will stay open later than usual, and offer patrons post-Christmas specials. Free flags will also be offered at stores throughout Cookstown.
