The BAGS Junior Tour players descended on the small town of Gilford to compete in the fourth event of the season at Harbour View Golf Club June 13.

For the second week in a row, Mother Nature cooperated and the players enjoyed ideal golfing conditions.

It took Nikki Belcourt of Elmvale an extra hole to claim her first victory of the season in the girls’ division over Barrie’s Corinne Grans- Wood. Grans-Wood has a strangle hold on the Order of Merit race with no worse that a tie for first in four events.

Wasaga Beach’s Matthieu Orr and Hepworth’s TJ Gillespie fired 75s en route to winning the bantam and juvenile divisions respectively. Caledon’s Brandon Raine was only one shot behind Gillespie, shooting a 76. Greg Brown of Clarksburg notched his second victory of the year, taking the junior title. In the minor bantam category, Simran Dhatt- Gauthier of Sudbury claimed first, shooting a 97, while Alliston’s Taylor Beckstead was third with his 103.

The BAGS Junior Golf Tour plays 14 stroke play events at a variety of golf courses across the Georgian Bay region. The tour will also be hosting a match play series and participating in several team events.
