Man beat at knifepoint
On Aug. 22, South Simcoe Police officers were called the Collings Avenue area of Bradford, regarding a man with a knife.
When officers arrived, a man advised that a culprit had held a knife to his throat as another suspect punched him several times. Descriptions were obtained. Police arrested one of the suspects a short time after the incident. He was taken to the police station and an investigation continued.
By early the next morning, officers had also identified the second man.
The arrested suspect is a 26-year-old Bradford man, who faces charges of assault and assault with a weapon. He will appear in Bradford court in September.
A warrant for arrest was obtained and the second suspect, a 21-year-old Bradford man, eventually surrendered himself to police on Aug. 26, at the South Division in Bradford. He faces charges of assault, assault with a weapon and weapons dangerous. He was held pending a bail hearing later that day in Barrie. The man was later remanded in custody.
Assault occurs at Bradford bar
On Aug. 21st, police patrolling the downtown Bradford core were approached by a woman who advised she had been struck at a local bar.
The suspect fled the area at the time, but an investigation revealed her identity. On Friday August 27, the suspect surrendered herself to police at the South Division station. Charged with one count of assault is a 21-yearold Newmarket woman. She will appear in Bradford court in September.
Man skips out on family support payments
On Tuesday August 24, officers attended an Innisfil residence, to locate a 40- year-old man who had not paid his family support as ordered by a judge.
A warrant had been issued for the Innisfil man. The man was arrested and held in custody after being taken to the jail in Penetanguishene.
Driver charged for excessive speeding
On Wednesday August 25, an officer using radar on Yonge Street, north of Bradford, noticed a vehicle driving at 57 kilometres per hour over the posted speed limit. The officer stopped the vehicle and charged the 33- year-old Innisfil driver with speeding and stunt driving.
